I really liked the huge mobile bassinets they had at the hospital when Jessica was born. So I set out to make my own.
Sam's Club had the perfect utility cart that was extremely sturdy and nearly impossible to tip over. I also liked the big rubber bumpers above the casters so that our walls wouldn't get knicked up.
Combine the cart with a utility tub bungied down to the top and you have an excellent mobile bassinet. There's also ample storage for the diapers and wipes.
Here's a closeup of how the tub is bungied down to the cart. The whole thing is really quite sturdy. We lined the utility tub with some blankets and changing pads.
Here's Jessica napping when she was just a few weeks old. As she got bigger we ended up replacing the tub with a changing table pad. So instead of a bassinet it's now used as a moblie changing table.
